All right!! I'll let the secret out. The absolute best sandwiches in the world can be found at Guigni's Deli in St. Helena. Nothing else comes close. I hate for too many people to know because it is already crowded. My friends, my enemies, my kids, my students, my former students know and love Guigni's.

This place is AWESOME. Their ice cream will make you forget about all diets and just about everything else, except maybe(?) sex. They have one flavor called Highway 17, which is rocky road ice cream but named after the amazingly fun Highway 17 that winds it's way from San Jose to Santa Cruz. No trip to Santa Cruz is complete without Marianne's.
